Science Film STARS is…

Science STARS (Students Tackling Authentic and Relevant Science) is an afterschool club where teens use science to tackle issues that impact our everyday life. Through a camera lens, we document our surroundings and make scientific sense of the world around us. The Film STARS of 2015 are East middle and high school students who wanted to start a revolution to make changes in Rochester, NY. We explored homelessness and environmental issues to generate four films that call for action and change in our community.

A call to environmental action through music. Musical dynamo and STAR, Mic Ramsey, laid down this inspirational track and the Film STARS turned it into a music video. Selected as finalist in Fast Forward Film Festival.

How can teens tackle the issue of homelessness? This film documents the journey of how STARS got involved, empowered, and made a difference in Rochester, NY.
