Eric Dahlstrom, Warner ’05 is going on his 7th year with the Victor Central School Dictricts teaching Chemistry and Forensics to 7th and 8th grade students! Go Eric. “There is no Mr. Holland’s Opus notion to teaching”, he says. Educators have a profound influence with their success starting with their students, so in many ways, the gratification is often delayed, and felt in subtle ways. He also wishes to communicate to the incoming cohort of pre-server teachers and those beginning their career:
1. Always be looking for ways to improve throughout your career
2. Always look for collaboration – some of the best lessons were not originally mine
3. Keep your personal life and school life as good a balance as possible.
Eric will also be coaching middle school girl’s tennis this fall season. For some of them, this will be their first time holding a racket. Sounds like fun!
